A UNIQUE VIEW OF THE HAGUE FROM THE WATER
The Hague centre
Boating time: 3 hours (return)
This varied route takes you past all kinds of sights in and around The Hague. From the Mauritskade, the Strijkijzer and the King’s Tower of the Ministry of the Interior to the Hofjeswoningen Om en Bij, the Tolhuisje and the former candy factory PECO Suikerwerken. Enjoy the historic buildings that you encounter along the way.
There are several terraces that you can visit during the boat trip. Nice addresses are Kompaan Bier, Loetje, Capriole cafe, catering establishments around the Bierkade and the terrace boats at the Veenkade. Tip, reserve the boat for an extra hour if you want to stop at the Hague Horeca.
A BEAUTIFUL ROUTE ALONG THE WELL-KNOWN LOCKS
Leidschendam
Boating time: 2 hours (return)
Leidschendam is known for its historic locks. It is a real Dutch water town and a busy point in the Vliet. There used to be a dam here, but in its place a characteristic 19th century lock has been built that absorbs the difference in level. Leidschendam is actually the ideal stopping place!
DISCOVER HISTORIC DELFT
Delft
Boating time: 2 hours (return)
Discover the rich history of Delft. You boat to Delft via the Schie and boat past the center of this beautiful city. The Oostport is special, built around 1400 and the only remaining historic gate in Delft. The city along the boating route is lively and pleasant, you pass several bridges and several rowing clubs. After about an hour of boating you reach the ZuidKolk. There it is possible to moor the boat and explore Delft on foot. Also nice is a visit to the Huszar catering business with a beautiful terrace on the water. The boating time return to Delft and Bootverhuur Haaglanden is approximately two hours. Do you want to explore the city or grab a terrace? Book your boat for an extra hour.
A TRIP THROUGH PICTURESQUE PONDS AND VILLAGES
Westland
Boating time: 4 hours (return)
Westland is a beautiful area for boating. Westland is known to everyone as the largest greenhouse horticulture area in the Netherlands. In the past, horticultural products were transported to the auction on these shipping routes. On this route you will of course pass greenhouses, but also picturesque ponds and villages, the building of the Delft Blue factory and the Groenveldsche Mill.

Visit Leiden and the Vlietlanden
Boating time Vlietland: 5 hours (return)
Boating time Leiden: 7-8 hours (return)

Vlietland: After 2 hours of boating towards Leiden you arrive at the Vlietland lake area. Anchor on the Vlietland and go for a swim and relax. There is a lot of greenery and water sports. Do the children want to play? Visit the aqua climbing park! Fancy a nice lunch? Moor the boat in front of the catering business Waterfront Vlietland.
Leiden: From Vlietland you can boat to Leiden in half an hour. Characteristic are the many canals in the city, you can easily boat through the city center and on summer days it is very pleasant with boats, terraces on the water and people. You have plenty of time to explore the city and enjoy a drink on a terrace.
And do you have to go to the toilet sometime? There are plenty of places on the route where a sanitary stop can be made.
DAY TRIPS TO THE WESTLAND
Westland, Vlaardingen and Schiedam
Boating time: 6 to 8 hours (return)
Westland: The Westland is a beautiful area for boating, with many ditches, polders and lakes. A day trip in the Westland is an excellent opportunity to visit the Foppenplas and enjoy a swim. The Foppeplas can easily be combined with a visit to Vlaardingen. An alternative day trip in the Westland goes past Poeldijk and Naaldwijk, beautiful!
Schiedam: The route to Schiedam first passes the city of Delft. That means enjoying history and the Oostpoort from 1400! After Delft you follow the Schie towards Spaansepolder and ultimately Schiedam. What is special about Schiedam is that you can see the old city mills very well from the water and there are many historic bridges. There are also old ships that complete the picture. As if time has stood still. There is plenty of opportunity for a walk and a terrace.
